The present book projects a themed article collection relating to Jews and the Gospel of John. Topics explore the Fourth Gospel in regard to the origins of Christian anti-Judaism/antisemitism, though other exegetical treatments from a Jewish frame of reference are presented. By exploring this topic across time and place, this collection aims to provide an historical context for understanding not only the Jewish Jesus but the specific framework in which Johannine Christianity was tied intrinsically to ancient Judaism, while simultaneously distancing itself of Jewish thought and culture.
